I was brought into existence during the summer of 1986. During my elementary school years, I was a quiet kid who exhibited an interest in drawing. Scribbling on the back of homework assignments, some of my teachers took notice of this brewing talent while others scolded me. Despite being told to not waste away my writing instruments, I kept at it and eventually had one of my drawings featured on a school program guide for some holiday event.

My artwork became much darker as time went on for unknown reasons. Demons and occult imagery plagued the back of my homework assignments and this time not a single teacher was fond of it.  The darkness I felt was either already in me or just a natural progression. I did not have any older siblings who were into heavy metal music or horror movies to influence me. All I had and needed were video games, cartoons and science fiction films.

In high school, I started to put more effort into my artwork and less effort in actual schoolwork. My black and white style and shading technique was born after countless hours of scribbling with a ball point pen. I never had any colors available, which was fine because it suited my dark aura. This time around, my drawings were on front of homework assignments. Somehow that landed me with my own exhibit in the school's main hallway.

DavidR XV

My experimental, electronic musical side project known as DavidR XV is a completely different entity from DavidR. I have always messed around with sound effects on the computer and the evolution from short audio clips to sound collages to actual songs was a natural process. I learned a lot about music just by listening to it. I also learned how to create it from years of trial and error despite never taking any lessons.

And that is pretty much all I can say about my music.

Other creative outlets I have dabbled in are photography, painting, sewing, writing, film, simulation programming and the culinary arts. Hopefully someday I get to expand on these mediums or find like minded individuals who would like to collaborate. Or maybe I can just do everything myself like I have been doing my whole life.

I am currently living in North Los Angeles and going to school for web, graphic and commercial design. Most of my free time is spent working. My other free time is spent creating all the things you see on this site. I love driving around town, drinking Coke and listening to Black Sabbath. Usually all at the same time and always alone.
